I found a 16 week training schedule, tweaked it for my schedule, printed it on a card, and started yesterday with a 2 mile run. All things considered, I feel pretty good. Tomorrow, 2.5 miles.
Honestly, I felt like I was cheating, running on the treadmill inside the Y. I usually run here at home, with the wind and the hills, and level running is comparatively easier. But I am looking forward to running outside, especially the longer runs coming up in a few weeks.
Yup. I'm doing it!
I think you will find the route to be relatively level. (After all this is OK)
ReplyDeleteI ran just over two miles today . It was 10 degrees today so just too cold for me to venture out. This will definitely be a challenge but I am excited.
Awesome Cindy!!! I ran 6 on Monday and 2 today. I looked on the website you recommended and they said to do 2 miles "race time". I tried today and was really exhaused when I got back. I did a 3 mile run in 28min!!! I always run up to 17 miles a week and do aerobics 2 days with weight training. I feel good when I run but I don't know about further than 6. I figured I'd start next week and I really need to work on eating right. I'm tired at the end of the day when I run - my eating habits are really not great. I just finished a WHOLE bag of hot cheetos (from Idaho, my sister-in-law sent them for christmas) and now I'm munching on candy corn!!! I don't even like candy corn, help me please. I'm just as excited as you. I looked at flights and think I can get one for $300 - Nicci, check it out!
ReplyDeleteBonny, you'll probably have the easiest time of all of us. I just read your comment out loud for the girls to laugh with me! I'm not worrying about eating yet, because exercising seems to reset my habits and I actually crave healthy food. I just have to stay clear of sweets.
ReplyDeleteBonny & Nicci- My flights are about the same cost,($308) but don't forget I live close to Newark & Philly airports, if a layover is cheaper. We'll talk before we book closer to the date.
